Occupational Therapy Services
Home Assessments
A discovery call will be scheduled to establish rapport between the client or the stakeholders and the therapist, and to determine where the therapist’s role can fit in.
A comprehensive assessment will follow, which will include interviewing the client and stakeholders, conducting a home visit for a walk-through, and observing the client in their home environment.
After the evaluation and assessment, the therapist will recommend adaptive equipment or assistive technology to match the client’s needs.
The therapist will also provide education and training for the client or carepartners to re-establish habits, routines, and joint support.
Equipment Prescriptions
A discovery call will be scheduled to establish rapport and to determine how the therapist’s role will fit in.
The therapist will take measurements and record numbers, collaborating with the client and the stakeholders in identifying the most effective equipment to be procured. Measurements will also be given to the stakeholders.
The therapist will recommend adaptive equipment or physical modifications such as bar grabs, handrails, raised toilet seats, ramps, and other adaptive equipment to improve client’s safety and independence at home. The therapist will prescribe products with client’s physical, mental, social, emotional, and sensory safety as the highest priority.
The therapist will provide additional guidance on how the equipment may impact the clients and stakeholders on how they interact with their home environment.
The therapist will also assist in securing vendors and quotes on the agreed upon equipment. The carepartners or stakeholders have the option as well to connect with trusted partners to see if they have a similar product with the measurements taken.
There may be funding organizations available, such as FNIHB, DHSU, MPI, and WCB. Bayanihan Services Therapy can help access them if needed, but funding is mostly the stakeholders’ responsibility.
The therapist will call you in a month or so to check if the equipment and recommendations have been effective and if there is anything else Bayanihan Therapy Services can do to help improve your experience.
